Northern Illinois Alpaca Extravaganza- What a great show we had!  As we wrapped up the last show of the 2008 season for Mystic Springs Ranch, we couldn't have asked for a better finish to the year.  Take a look at how everyone did and a few fun photos of Maddy in Obstacle.







Citadel's River Fortress- 1st and Color Champion, Brown suri male.  Fortress is a young and beautiful male that is NOT related to any of our other males.  Amazing fiber with perfect lock and high luster. We are fortunate to be partners with Pine River Alpacas (Also the great breeder of this wonderful male) and Spirit Mountain Ranch.  Watch for Fortress again in Spring 2009.  Fortress will be available to start breeding in late fall 2009.

Mr. Big Shot - 2nd and Reserve Color Champion, white suri males.  Mr. Big Shot (AKA Luigi) had a great day!  Not only did he beat out several full Accoyo white males but the judges comments about his luster, density and over-all quality have earned him a right to be listed in 2009 as Herdsire for Mystic Springs Ranch.  We saw Luigi in Michigan in early spring and I when I saw his luster and density I knew that he had a place in our breeding program.  We look forward to breeding this male in 2009.  He thinks he is ready now!  With some rare Accoyo bloodlines, like Papacito we are looking forward to seeing his production.
