Herd Evaluations: Whether you are looking for a new addition to your herd, just starting out or require an independent value for certain alpacas or your whole herd, we can help. Evaluation fees are based on number of animals evaluated, location and report style you need.
We can give you oral reasons regarding your whole herd and assist in matching herdsires with your females and evaluating crias/yearlings for show and sale. Or we can go into in depth detail on each alpaca with research and history in a formal written formmat. You decide. Call or email for price quotes and to set up a time. Mileage fees will apply.
One on One training: Do you have an alpaca that needs some one on one training tips? Perhaps your time is limited or you want personal training for yourself or your child. With over 20 years of showing dogs, horses and alpacas I can help you make it fun and help you win. Showmanship has a lot of little ins and outs that are consider "tricks of the trade". Nothing that breaks any rules, just little ways to help you show your alpaca to the best of it's ability. I'm also honest. If I think your expectations of a particular animal are way beyond what I think it is capable in the show ring, I consider it my obligation to tell you. You can still make the decisions but with facts instead of emotions. One on one training can be done at our place or yours. Fees are hourly starting at $45/hour plus mileage. Weekends fill up fast so book early or get several other farms to go in on the fees with you. I move quickly and don't waste your time but we also work at the animals comfortable pace. Call for more details.
Hand Shearing of Suris: If you are considering hand shearing your weanling/yearling suris (which I highly recommend) I can assist you. With the new show rules now offering "shorn suri classes" we are recommending that you strongly consider hand shearing your densest alpacas for their comfort and safety as well as improving the value of your fleece.
Your most cost effective method is to bring the alpaca here and assist with bagging fleece. You can drop them off and pick up later as well. I am also available to travel with a minimum fee. Suris that cooperate and stand without much restraint and without the aid of any sedatives start at $65/alpaca or $65/hour (one hour minimum). |

Alpaca breeders are friendly folks and they enjoy sharing their alpacas with the public. You will find that each breeder has his own individual style and method of operation. You can learn a little from each breeder and decide how you personally would like to participate in the alpaca industry and at what level.
I'm often asked for my main tips when researching alpacas, so here they are:
